US sustainable investing firm i(x) Net Zero, which is backed by Red Hot Chili Peppers’ singer Anthony Kiedis, is planning to list on London’s AIM.

A US green investment venture backed by Red Hot Chili Peppers’ singer Anthony Kiedis and a host of top business figures is planning to list on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM).

i(x) Net Zero, a sustainable investing company, which invests in companies focused on the energy transition and sustainability in the built environment, is looking to raise around £20m ($26.56m) from an initial public offering (IPO) on London’s AIM later this month.

The firm said it aims to provide capital growth for investors with a ‘positive, scalable, measurable and sustainable impact’ on the environment, and has to date invested in firms such as biofuels specialist WasteFuels, renewable energy company Enphys Acquisition Corp, and direct air carbon capture (DAC) technology developer Carbon Engineering.

i(x) Net Zero also said it boasts three investment holdings were committed to building sustainable and affordable housing.

Conservative MP and former government minister Nick Hurd is slated to act as chair of the venture, with Steve Oyer, former Lazard Asset Management executive who has also held roles at Brookfield Asset Management, heading up the firm as CEO.

As well as Kiedis, other investors in the venture include Joe Gebbia, co-founder of Airbnb; Aileen Getty, philanthropist and co-founder of Sprout; and Chuck Clarvit, CEO of Clarvit Capital and former managing director and co-head of BlackRock Alternative Advisors.

The new venture said it aimed to deliver ‘positive, scalable, measurable and sustainable impact on the environment and on the communities it serves’.
